FAQs

Got a question? You’re not alone. Check out our FAQs for our most commonly sought-after race info. If what you need isn’t here, shoot us an email at community@clippedinforlife.org.

  • Do you send out pre-race instructions?

    Yes! Pre-race instructions are sent out to all registered racers on the Thursday before each race. The links below will work once the email has been sent.

  • Where/when do I pick up my packet?

    Pick up your packet at your first race at the Registration Tent from 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM. Look for the Clipped In Races tents near the Finish Line. Once you’ve picked up your packet, you do not need to check in again.

    Keep your race plate for the whole series! There’s a $5 replacement plate charge if you lose/forget yours.

  • Will there be late/day-of registration?

    Yes! Add $5 for late registration starting at 12:00 AM on Friday before each race. We highly recommend registering online at home to avoid squinting at your smart phone screen on race morning.

  • I lost/forgot my race plate. What do I do?

    Come visit the nice folks at registration and ‘fess up. There’s a $5 replacement fee, and they’ll get you a new plate.

  • Can I pre-ride the course?

    If you would like to pre-ride the course, you may do so from 8:00 am to 8:25 am on race morning, or in between races. Please queue at the black tent with the “Pre-Ride Entrance” sign just past the finish line as a race is finishing up. The race announcer will let you know when you may get on the course to pre-ride. Pre-riding is NOT allowed during a race!

  • Is there any food onsite?

    Yes! We have local food trucks joining us at each Good News race. Look forward to delicious grub from:

    Race 1 (January 27 at Lakeside Church): Pancho Villa BBQ

    Race 2 (February 3 at District Church): Outlaw Cuisine

    Race 3 (February 10 at Johnson-Springview Park): Allen BBQ & Burgers

  • Hey, do you guys need volunteer help?

    We love volunteers! We need help with setup, registration, course marshaling, and tear down at every race. Click here to sign up and email community@clippedinforlife.org with questions.

  • I'm part of a group/club/team. Where can we set up a support area?

    Team space will depend on the venue. Please email community@clippedinforlife.org if you would like to bring a team trailer.

  • How will the series be scored?

    We’ll have podiums at every race for the top five in each category. Points are awarded as follows:

    1st Place = 1 point;
    2nd Place = 9 points;
    3rd Place = 13 points;
    4th Place = 17 points;
    5th Place = 19 points;
    6th Place = 21 points;
    7th Place = 23 points;
    8th Place = 25 points;
    9th Place = 26 points;
    10th Place+ = 27 points+;
    Did Not Start (DNS) = 55 points;
    Disqualified (DSQ) = 60 points

    Series podiums will be three deep, based on your overall score from all three races. You must do all three races to be on the series podium and points do not carry over if you change categories! Series awards will be handed out after your category’s podium at the last race.

    Series Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will go to the person who had the most number of 1st place finishes. If that’s equal, we’ll see who had the most number of 2nd place finishes. Then 3rd place, then 4th, etc. If it’s STILL a tie after all that, the final tiebreaker is whoever finishes higher at the final race of the series.
