Once you’ve paid for your race entry, race credit, or program participation, we’re committed to delivering an exceptional experience for you. We follow industry standard with a no refunds policy because there’s a lot that goes into producing an event/program (volunteer with us for an inside look), and registrations let us know how many people to plan for! Because of this and out of fairness for all participants, Clipped In for Life is unable to offer refunds for any of our events/programs for any reason, including but not limited to cancellation/postponement, injury, family/business emergency, medical emergency, or unexpected travel.
That being said, we’re human, and you are too. If you find yourself experiencing extreme circumstances (i.e. unscheduled military service, debilitating and extenuating injury or illness, death of an immediate family member), we want to work with you on a solution through a registration transfer or deferral. Reach us at (916) 905-0965 or community@clippedinforlife.org to start this conversation. Requests must be made prior to or within one month after your intended participation date.
For some Clipped In for Life events and programs, we allow you to transfer your registration to another participant or defer to a future date. If transfers are allowed for your event/program, you are responsible for finding someone to transfer your registration to. Please visit the Registration & Pricing page for each event or program for specific information on transfers and deferrals:
Transfers are not allowed across Clipped In for Life events/programs because the costs, planning process, and timeline for each event or program is different (i.e. if you registered for the Sacramento Cyclocross series but cannot attend, we are NOT able to transfer your registration to the Mother Lode Epic).
All of our events/programs take place outdoors, and therefore have an inherent risk of being impacted by nature. The safety of our participants is a top priority for any event/program we produce, followed by the environmental impact of our events. If an act of God/Mother Nature/Zeus/*insert higher being here* beyond our control threatens these priorities, Clipped In for Life may be required to make the difficult decision to postpone or cancel an event/program.
In certain circumstances, the decision to cancel or postpone an event/program may be passed down from the landowner/manager of the venue for which our event/program is permitted.
The past few years have delivered an untethering amount of uncertainty with the COVID-19 pandemic and California wildfires. Cancellations and postponements have become a more real possibility for events/programs than ever before, and many costs are still incurred even if an event/program cannot happen as planned. We need to be able to cover these costs in order to keep putting on future races, and therefore cannot offer refunds/deferrals if an event/program is postponed/cancelled.
If an event/program is postponed, participants will not be required to re-register for the new date in most circumstances. Registration transfers will be considered according to the transfer policy for that specific event/program.
If an event/program is cancelled, participants will receive first right to sign up for the following year’s event/program via an early registration process. We are unable to offer refunds for a cancelled event/program, and your registration fee for the cancelled event/program DOES NOT roll over to the following year.
Let’s get real: We don’t want to cancel an event/program, you don’t want our event/program cancelled. In the unfortunate instance that this happens, please be respectful and understanding of the fact that costs are still incurred in the form of permits, equipment, awards, race swag, safety personnel, etc. whether or not the event/program takes place.
