Once you’ve paid for your race entry/race credits, we’re committed to delivering an exceptional race experience for you. We follow industry standard with a no refunds policy because there’s a lot that goes into producing an event (volunteer with us for an inside look), and registrations let us know how many people to plan for! Because of this and out of fairness for all racers, Clipped In for Life is unable to offer refunds for any of our events or race series for any reason, including but not limited to cancellation/postponement, injury, family/business emergency, medical emergency, or unexpected travel.
That being said, we’re human, and you are too. If you find yourself experiencing extreme circumstances (i.e. unscheduled military service, debilitating and extenuating injury or illness, death of an immediate family member), we want to work with you on a solution through a registration transfer or deferral. Reach us at (916) 905-0965 or community@clippedinforlife.org to start this conversation. Requests must be made prior to or within one month after your intended event participation date.
For some Clipped In for Life events, we allow you to transfer your registration to another racer or defer to a future date. You, the racer, are responsible for finding someone to transfer your registration to, and transfers are not allowed across different Clipped In for Life events and series. Please visit the Registration & Pricing page for each of our events for specific information on transfers and deferrals:
Transfers are not allowed across Clipped In for Life events because the costs, planning process, and timeline for each of our events is different (i.e. if you registered for the Sacramento Cyclocross series but cannot attend, we are NOT able to transfer your registration to the Mother Lode Epic).
All of our events take place outdoors, and therefore have an inherent risk of being impacted by nature. The safety of our participants is a top priority for any event we produce, followed by the environmental impact of our events. If an act of God/Mother Nature/Zeus/*insert higher being here* beyond our control threatens these priorities, Clipped In Races may be required to make the difficult decision to postpone or cancel an event.
In certain circumstances, the decision to cancel or postpone an event may be passed down from the landowner/manager of the venue for which our event is permitted.
The past two years have delivered an untethering amount of uncertainty with the COVID-19 pandemic and California wildfires. Cancellations and postponements have become a more real possibility for events than ever before, and many costs are still incurred even if an event cannot happen as planned. We need to be able to cover these costs in order to keep putting on future races, and therefore cannot offer refunds/deferrals if an event is postponed/cancelled.
If an event is postponed, participants will not be required to re-register for the new date in most circumstances. Registration transfers will be considered according to the transfer policy for that specific event.
If an event is cancelled, participants will receive first right to sign up for the following year’s event via an early registration process. We are unable to offer refunds for a cancelled event, and your registration fee for the cancelled event DOES NOT roll over to the following year.
Let’s get real: We don’t want to cancel an event, you don’t want our event cancelled. In the unfortunate instance that this happens, please be respectful and understanding of the fact that costs are still incurred in the form of permits, equipment, awards, race swag, safety personnel, etc. whether or not the event takes place.
Help us keep our community safe and local races alive! If you are sick and experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, STAY HOME and email community@clippedinforlife.org to discuss options for your registration fee.
