Clipped In for Life is excited to introduce Grip Academy: an after-school youth cycling program for kids in 8th grade and under to learn to ride and progress their bike skills.
Currently, there are few pathways for kids to be regularly involved in cycling and progress their skills in a community-building setting. Clipped In for Life is redefining the learn-to-ride process with Grip Academy, rewarding deliberate skill progression with colored grips inspired by the martial arts belt system. This initiative aims to enhance bike handling skills across diverse proficiency levels while also incorporating essential elements such as traffic safety, bike maintenance and technology, first-aid, stewardship, and fitness. These engaging activities are designed to be inclusive, transcending age, gender, and economic backgrounds.
Grip Academy pushes beyond basic bike handling skills to engage kids in a lifelong activity that boosts physical and mental health, reinforces valuable life skills, and builds community.
Start with a self-assessment of your child’s abilities to determine their Grip Level.
