The Wednesday Night Worlds: Twilight Time Trials features six weeks of COVID-19 mitigated, socially-distanced mountain bike racing at the beautiful Deer Creek Hills Preserve. Races will be held 4:30 – 7:30PM for 6 weeks starting Wednesday, August 26th, with race backup dates through Wednesday, October 28th.
Gates and registration will open at 4:00 PM before each race.
Each week we will have two courses: a short course and a long course. Individual time trial starts will have one rider starting per minute, regardless of course. Racers will be required to register for an assigned start time, and must be ready to race at that time.
Start times will be available in 15-minute increments (i.e. 4:30 PM, 4:45 PM, 5:00 PM, etc.) with a maximum of 15 slots for each time (in other words, one person per minute).
The target duration for time-trial courses is 20-30 minutes.
There will not be an opportunity to pre-ride the race course on Wednesdays. However, you can join the Sacramento Valley Conservancy on Monday evenings for a ride and preview of the probable course for that week.
All riders must register separately for Monday rides through the SVC. Space is limited to 50 people for the evening. To register, visit the SVC’s Events Calendar, click the link on the date you’d like to ride, and follow the instructions.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow the usual post-race gathering at the property for two reasons: (1) Because of the ongoing pandemic and (2) because the parking lot at Deer Creek Hills can only accommodate 60 vehicles. So when you’re finished up with your Twilight Time Trial, please vacate the property so others can have an opportunity to race.
No in-person spectators are allowed at the races, but your friends & family can join us on the Clipped In Races Facebook page for a live stream of race starts and finishes, complete with commentary!
