Race 8 Postponed to 12/15

Due to a worsening unsafe wind forecast (15-21 mph with 44 mph gusts) for Saturday, December 14th, we are postponing SacCX Race 8 at Johnson-Springview Park to our backup date of Sunday, December 15, 2024 (the next day).

This decision was made with racer safety as our top priority, using historical data from a previously canceled race in 2022 with similar unsafe wind conditions. We appreciate the flexibility of Rocklin Parks & Rec and the City of Rocklin in allowing us to switch the date. You’ll still reap the benefits of muddy conditions on Sunday, with a mostly sunny forecast and 5mph winds.

We recognize that the last-minute nature of this postponement will likely cause inconveniences for our racers, especially for those that plan to travel from farther distances. If you purchased a race credit for Race 8, we have a few options for you:

Default (No Action Required)
Use your race credit at the rescheduled Race 8 on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Johnson-Springview Park. You only need to check in at registration if this is your first race of the 2024 season.

1. If you cannot attend on Sunday, please reply to this email or email community@clippedinforlife.org by 9:00 AM on Sunday, December 15, 2024 to request one of the following options:
   Donate your race credit for Race 8 to Clipped In for Life and receive 10 raffle tickets towards the Series Raffle for a 2025 SacCX Series Entry & Swag (three possible winners).*
2. If you purchased your race credit between November 24 thru this email timestamp on December 13, 2024 , you may request a 50% refund for your Race 8 entry.

Series Awards
This postponement also impacts our originally scheduled Series Awards Party, which will not be held as planned. Here’s how Series Awards & Raffle will look:

• Series Podium ceremony will be held after each race’s regular podium ceremony.
• You’ll pick up raffle tickets for each race credit you paid for at registration.
• Raffle will be open throughout race day for you to drop your tickets in for the prizes you want to win.
• You do not need to be present to win ANY prizes. Raffle winners will be drawn on Monday, December 16, 2024. You will be notified via text or email if you win something.

*Clipped In for Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The three winners for the SacCX 2025 Series Entry & Swag will be drawn on Monday, December 16, 2024. Your raffle tickets will be automatically entered, and you do not need to be present to win.
